GRADUATION UPDATE: Friday, May 28, 2021, Governor Northam’s Executive Order 79 went into effect. In response to the governor’s order, which lifts restrictions on social distancing and capacity, we are happy to share that our formal in-person graduation ceremonies can commence indoors. As such, Hampton City Schools has made the decision to move our graduation ceremonies from Darling Stadium to the Hampton Coliseum which has previously been our norm. The Hampton Coliseum is working with HCS to ensure that all mitigation protocols are followed so that graduates and their families can celebrate safely and experience a memorable occasion. All graduation ceremonies are scheduled for the same date and time and each student will receive at least ten (10) tickets for family and friends.

During this formal ceremony, each graduate will walk across the stage to receive their diploma.

Each student will receive at least ten (10) tickets for family and friends. Additional information regarding graduation ticket numbers will be communicated to families from their graduate’s high school.

In accordance with HCS mitigation strategies, all graduates and guests are requested to wear a face covering at all times. Graduates and guests who are not fully vaccinated are expected to wear a face covering  at all times, unless medically unable to do so.

All graduates and guests are required to self-administer a Health Assessment Questionnaire BEFORE arriving at the Hampton Coliseum. Any graduate or guest who does not feel well should remain at home.

Speakers will include: valedictorian, salutatorian, senior class president, executive principal, superintendent, and the school board chair.

All graduations will be streamed live on Facebook (@HamptonCSchools) and WHCS TV (Cox 46, Verizon Fios 20).
