Spratley Gifted Center fourth-grade teachers surprise students with a special visit
Fourth-grade students at Spratley Gifted Center had quite a surprise when their teacher showed up at their doorsteps on Friday, December 11.
Teachers, Michele Ferrel, Paula Larson, and Gretchen Cary began the visits at 10:30 a.m. and completed the last visit at 8:30 p.m. Thelma Jefferson was unable to participate but was there in spirit. In total, they visited 79 students to deliver goodie bags and books. The teachers emailed the parents in advance to let the know that they wanted the visit to be a surprise.
“The smiles and tears from students made the long adventure well worth it,” said Ferrell. “It was so good to finally meet the students! The look on some of their faces was priceless!”
This is just another example of how our HCS teachers continue to go the extra mile for our students.
