HCS curriculum leader for mathematics to present at upcoming VDOE workshops
Angela Byrd-Wright, curriculum leader for mathematics, continues to represent Hampton City Schools as she will present at several Virginia Department of Education workshops in the month of March. The workshops are as follows:

21st Century Community Learning Centers Spring Institute (March 11, 2021). The 2021 Spring Institute will focus on academic achievement, student advancement, and curriculum development in the areas of reading, math, and family engagement. Presentation Title: We ARE a Force!: Developing Engaging and Vertically Aligned Curriculum to Support After School Programming.
VDOE #EdEquityVA Webinar Series (March 2021). The #EdEquity VA Webinar Series strategically focuses on sharing best practice and practical resources that advance the critical competencies necessary to achieve education equity in Virginia: courageous leadership, compassionate family and student engagement, continuous reflection, cultural responsiveness, and curriculum reframing. Byrd-Wright will be presenting on culturally responsive teaching practices as a part of this series.
