HCS curriculum leader Dr. Andrew Lloyd passes Virginia Bar Exam

Dr. Andrew Lloyd, curriculum leader for world languages and English language learners, passed the Virginia Bar Exam in February 2023.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Foreign Languages and Literature: Spanish Teacher Preparation; a Master’s of Science in Education in Educational Leadership and a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership, all from Old Dominion University. He earned a Juris Doctor from the Syracuse University College of Law.

Lloyd has served as curriculum leader in Hampton City Schools for five years and was also a Spanish teacher at Phoebus High School for one year and five years at Phenix PreK-8 School.

In addition to his experience in HCS, Lloyd was a vice principal for two years in the Syracuse City School District.

“Working in education has allowed me to serve my communities in a profound way. Passing the Virginia Bar Exam and being able to practice law now allows me to serve an even larger part of the community in different ways. I am very excited to serve doing the two things about which I am very passionate: education and law,” shared Lloyd.

Congratulations to Dr. Lloyd on this outstanding achievement!
