A Special Thank You from the Superintendent video
After a year like no other to include virtual learning, modified in-person learning, concurrent hybrid learning, PPE, safety and health mitigation strategies, our superintendent wanted to provide an impactful end-of-the-year thank you message to our staff, families, and the community.
2021 Inaugural Academies of Hampton Graduation video
The 2020-2021 school year was a year that our students were making history. Not only were we living and learning in a pandemic, but the Class of 2021 was the first graduating class of the Academies of Hampton (AoH). These students began the journey their ninth grade year as Hampton City Schools began transforming what teaching and learning looks like in Hampton City Schools. Over 1,400 students graduated from Hampton City Schools on June 17 through 19, 2021, in-person at the Hampton Coliseum from the school division and their respective academy.
Welcome Back to the 2021-2022 School Year video
The purpose of this video was to welcome back our students and staff after a year and a half of virtual/hybrid learning. We wanted to spark the excitement that our students and staff were going back to full classroom, in-person instruction. Over the previous school year, the majority of our messaging focused on “We are all in this together,” empathy and giving grace. Even though we recognized that we were still in a pandemic and teaching and learning looked different due to safety mitigation strategies, the goal to begin this year was to bring excitement, fun, and togetherness. As such, we decided to create a “music video” featuring our superintendent as the DJ and school staff.
Happy Holidays, Hampton City Schools! video
Each year, we produce a winter holiday message for our students, families, and staff. The previous school year (2020-2021), we produced a somewhat somber although heartfelt holiday message from our superintendent, as that was the mood during the full blown pandemic. However, in 2021, the majority of our students had returned to in-person learning in our schools and we wanted to have a whimsical message that was heartwarming and meaningful and at the same time brought laughter and some comic relief.
HCS received the award of merit in the publications and digital media award category for the Budget at a Glance publication. This publication was to assist stakeholders in understanding the proposed budget.
The honorable mentions were also received in the Publications and Digital Media Award category for:
