Phoebus High School boys track team win individual class 3 VHSL state championships

 

The Phoebus High School boys track team participated in the Class 3 state championship at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA on June 3 and 4, 2022. The team earned three state championship titles under the guidance of coach Chineta Jackson-Davis.

 

The 4 x 100 boys relay team prevailed with a time of 43.16. The team included Tyreon Taylor, Jordan Bass, Siyon Bunch, and Billy Jones, III.

 

The 4 x 400 boys relay team earned the championship with a time of 3.25.50. The team included Kemon Driver, Jordan Bass, Siyon Bunch, and Billy Jones, III.

 

Billy Jones, III won the boys 400 meter run with a time of 49.30.

 

“All you need is your best on this day and when you feel yourself falling short, take a deep breath, you pump your arms and lift your knees, don’t lose your composure, and hold your technique,” said Jackson-Davis. “Then if you’ve got more, you go get more and you will be a champion.”
