Alexia Tran, a fifth grader at Armstrong School for the Arts, gives opening at the March 8 School Board meeting

 

Alexia Tran, a fifth grade student at Armstrong School for the Arts, was selected to give the opening at the March 8, 2023, School Board meeting. She read a poem entitled The Power of Self-Love: A Lesson for Students. The author is unknown.

Alexia’s favorite subject is science and she enjoys conducting experiments. She is involved in year-round swim team and wants to be an FBI agent when she grows up. She has been a student at Armstrong since kindergarten and says her favorite memory at the school is the Valentines dance when she was in second grade.

Alexia’s mother, grandmother, cousins, as well as her principal Millicent Rogers, joined her at the meeting.
