Amiyah Pittman, sixth grader at Lindsay Middle School, gives opening at the May 3 School Board meeting

 

Amiyah Pittman, a sixth grader from Lindsay Middle School, was selected to lead the Pledge of Allegiance and give the opening at the May 3, 2023, School Board meeting. She read a poem called Bloom by Anna Voelker.

Amiyah likes math and she said she loves to dance, create art, and write stories. She has three sisters and one brother.

Amiyah’s mother, stepfather, and her principal Gregory Hopson joined her at the meeting.
