New K-12 Learning Acceleration Grants

The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) has established $30 million in Learning Acceleration Grants that parents/guardians can access to assist their child. The learning grants can provide up to $1,500 or $3,000 based on income for student tutoring and other educational services. If interested, an application must be submitted and approved by VDOE. Once approved, families will have access to a list of vetted, pre-approved tutoring services or providers of assistive technologies. Families can then choose a tutor from that list that meets their needs. Funds from the K-12 Learning Acceleration Grant are then paid directly to the tutor or service provider.
