HCS art and music students showcased in the Coliseum Central Holiday Extravaganza

Hampton City Schools art and music students will be participating in the Coliseum Central Holiday Extravaganza.

Over 130 HCS students created holiday-themed artwork to compete in the Coliseum Holiday Art Contest. The work of the finalists will be displayed daily on the Coliseum Central site starting on Saturday, November 20, leading up to December 24, when the grand prize winner’s artwork will be posted. A complete schedule, list of finalists, and award winners can be found here.

To kick off the holiday music season, high school band students will perform throughout the Coliseum Central area on Saturday, November 20. The performances will start at 10:30 a.m., with the bands rotating through the Town Square at Peninsula Town Center, Marys Park at Peninsula Town Center, Bass Pro Shop, and Kroger at Riverpointe.

“We are excited to bring live holiday music back to the community,” said Kelly Dee, visual and performing arts curriculum leader.
