Bethel High School students place second in 2022 STEM High School Drone Competition

Five Bethel High School TrAIL Academy students in the Geospatial Technology and Unmanned Systems pathway competed in the 2022 STEM High School Drone Competition in Portsmouth, VA against 10 other high schools.

The students flew an Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) through an indoor obstacle course while completing tasks, earning second place in the competition.

The team consisted of students Bryce Washington, Erik Concepcion, Kamari Sterns, Silas Wagner, Isaac Williams, and teacher/sponsor Alex Minter.

Minter said, “I am so proud of my GIS students who participated in the STEM Drone Competition for taking second place. They worked very well as a team and showed great amounts of ambition while under pressure of racing the drones.”
