HCS is once again leading the way in training Virginia educators
Hampton City Schools has often been in the forefront of change, creativity, and leading the way for others across the Commonwealth of Virginia. One of these programs includes participation in the Just in Time Quick Checks program through the Virginia Department of Education.
Angela Byrd-Wright, the HCS curriculum leader for math, participated this summer in training approximately 1,000 teachers, mathematics supervisors, and specialists in the implementation of the Just in Time Quick Checks and best practices for implementing the mathematics instructional model for Kindergarten through Algebra I.
Byrd-Wright has now been asked to serve as a lead developer (team lead) on the 2020 VDOE Just in Time Mathematics Development Team for Geometry. The work will begin in early September and extend through mid-November. The team leads and developers will collaborate to oversee development of resources for Geometry.
