Phenix PreK-8 teacher Sonya Gordon publishes children’s book
Sonya Gordon, a seventh grade English language arts teacher at Phenix PreK-8 School, has published a children’s book entitled I Made It.
The main character of the book, Victoria, takes the reader on a journey that puts a spotlight on life lessons. The emphasis is to teach young girls to be confident, think positive, set goals, and utilize strategies for success.
“I was excited to hear of this success and to receive my copy in the mail,” said Robin Hunt-Crenshaw, principal of Phenix. “Mrs. Gordon is one that knows the definition of hard work and this is living proof. I look forward to more of her great books in the future.”
Gordon is a resident of Hampton with her husband and son. She has been an educator for 20 years and also serves as a public speaker, mentor, and presenter. She is currently working on a book for boys which is due to be released in the summer of 2021. Gordon thanks her principal Hunt-Crenshaw for her support to encourage her to publish her first book.
