HCS kindergarten registration now open

Hampton City Schools is currently enrolling kindergarten students for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. To be eligible, children must reach the age of five by September 30, 2024. Registration is taking place at the child’s designated zoned school.

Parents should contact their zoned school to schedule an appointment to register their child. You may check your child’s zoned school at http://edulogweb.hampton.k12.va.us/edulog/webquery/. 

Parents are requested to bring the following to register their child:

• Proof of residency – this can be a mortgage/lease statement or a current public utility bill such as water, electric or gas or a residency affidavit (available at any school office)
• Child’s state-issued birth certificate
• Child’s physical health form (dated within 12 months of school start date) and immunization record. If the parent is unable to provide a physical and an up-to-date immunization record at the time of registration, please note that these documents MUST be submitted prior to the first day of school.
• Custody papers (if applicable)
• Photo identification of parent or guardian

Upon parental request, any child in Hampton who will turn five in October or November may be considered for kindergarten enrollment pending an assessment. Parents of children born in October or November 2019 may contact Virginia Saloka at 757-727-2130 to arrange an evaluation appointment. It is important to understand that the outcome of the evaluation determines the child's eligibility, and there is no option for appeal.
