Kecoughtan High School NJROTC earns five trophies at the Titan Classic Athletic and Academic Competition

The Kecoughtan High School (KHS) NJROTC, under the direction of LCDR K. R. Wilson, USN-Retired, earned five trophies at the Titan Classic Athletic and Academic competition. The event was held at the Norfolk NJROTC Leadership Academy at Lake Taylor High School on Saturday, September 24, 2022.


The cadets earned third place in each of the following areas:


  • Team curl-ups – eight males and eight females competed as a single team

  • Team push-ups – eight males and eight females competed as a single team

  • Australian Trolley – five males and five females competed as a single team

  • Combined athletic scores that resulted in an overall athletic trophy

  • Combined academic score, uniform personnel inspection (UPI), and athletic scores that led to an overall meet trophy

The cadets were led by Imala Warner (commanding officer) and Senon Cobbins (athletic commander). Jeremiah Britt scored the highest among the KHS males in push-ups with 62 and 104 curl-ups. Alyssa Walker scored the highest among the KHS females with 93 curl-ups. Trinity Wilson and Imala Warner scored the highest among the KHS females with 40 push-ups.

 

“I am so proud of this small group of cadets,” said Wilson. “We have a great group of new cadets and our returning cadets have stepped into their new roles with the mental toughness necessary to stay competitive. Bravo Zulu which means well done!”
