31st Annual Warrior Classic Marching Band Competition to be held October 29

The Kecoughtan High School Band and Kecoughtan Band Boosters will host the 31st Annual Warrior Classic Marching Band Competition on Saturday, October 29, 2022. The event will be held at Darling Stadium (Victoria Blvd., Hampton) and will begin at 1:30 p.m. with the final band (Kecoughtan High School exhibition) performing at approximately 8:15 p.m.

“We are proud of the long history of the Warrior Classic Marching Band Competition sponsored by the Kecoughtan High School Band Boosters,” said Kelly Dee, visual and performing arts curriculum leader. “We are excited that this Hampton tradition of marching excellence is going on 31 years. There is always something for everyone to enjoy! We invite all families, community members, and past participants to come out and enjoy the resilience, excellence, and the pride these students exhibit while they represent their schools and compete for grand champion.”

Tickets are $10 for general admission, $5 for senior citizens, and children five and under are free.

Seven highly qualified judges covering the categories of music, visual, general effect, marching, color guard, percussion, and drum major score the bands.

Twenty-two bands from throughout Virginia have registered to participate.
